Co-hosted with the Aerospace Engineering Club · Sponsored by Random Forest Education
A hands-on introduction to machine learning followed by a friendly team competition on a real dataset, returning after the success of our inaugural workshop in 2025. Open to all Stratford Preparatory Blackford middle school students, whether or not they are in the AI & Data Science Club. No programming or AI experience is required; club members guide every team from start to finish.
The auditorium at Stratford Preparatory Blackford, 3800 Blackford Ave, San Jose, CA 95117. Open in Google Maps
Awarded as gift cards to the top three teams, with additional prizes beyond the top three.
A guided session walks every participant through building and training a first machine learning model in Python, from loading a dataset to reading the results. All materials are provided.
Teams apply what they learned to the competition dataset, with club members circulating to help debug, explain concepts, and suggest improvements.
Each team submits its model for scoring on a held-out test set. Standings are shown live, and winners are announced at the end of the event.
